Education Minister responds to 'Ignorance is not bliss'

Education Minister Chris Hipkins was asked about the findings from our latest education research note, Ignorance is not bliss: Why knowledge matters (and why we may not have enough of it).
Minister Hipkins says, "...We have it at our fingertips now: the ability to look up any information we may wish to. The question that young people really need to turn their attention to is how do they decipher fact from fiction?"
As Briar Lipson explains in Ignorance is not bliss, deciphering fact from fiction does rely on having some background knowledge.
