Gary Born

Meredith Connell, together with the New Zealand Centre of International Economic Law and The New Zealand Initiative, invites you to a discussion with Gary Born.

Gary Born is widely regarded as the world’s preeminent authority on international commercial arbitration and international litigation. While in New Zealand he will discuss his recent initiative: a Bilateral Arbitration Treaty regime. This is aimed at addressing the difficulties businesses face when a dispute arises because of the structure of the international litigation system, which is often time-consuming, expensive and inefficient. Gary’s proposed Bilateral Arbitration Treaty regime would replace international litigation as the default dispute resolution process and use neutral principles of international arbitration to create a pragmatic framework for resolving international commercial disputes.
